Talk to Myself

Contents

Talk to Myself began as a quiet experiment with structure but became something more personal than I expected. I wanted to see if an acrostic could hold something real, the restless thoughts that circle when silence feels too heavy.

It’s about isolation, inner noise, and the strange comfort of speaking just to be heard, even if only by yourself.

Alone voice in my head
Begging for attention
Constantly talking to me
Drowning out the silence
Echoing my thoughts and feelings
Filling me with doubt and fear
Giving me false hope and comfort
Hiding me from reality

I talk to myself

Just to cope with the pain
Keeping up a facade
Lying to everyone else
Making excuses and reasons
Never admitting the truth
Overlooking the signs and symptoms
Pretending that I’m fine

I talk to myself

Quietly in my room
Rarely going outside
Shrinking from the world
Trying to avoid people
Unable to connect or relate
Viewing myself as a burden
Wishing for a change

I talk to myself

X-raying my own soul
Yearning for some help
Zealously hoping for a cure
